Microsoft 365

You have a college Microsoft 365 account. To get started, go to the Microsoft 365 website and login using your college email address and password. 

Your email address is your student number, followed by @nptcgroup.ac.uk, e.g. 123456@nptcgroup.ac.uk 

You can use Microsoft 365 through your web browser but you can also download the apps to your device for increased functionality. You can also run Microsoft 365 apps on Android or Apple mobile devices.

OneDrive

Microsoft Office OneDrive cloud icon.

OneDrive is your online cloud storage space where you can save your college work. You can access your work and files from any device where you are signed into Microsoft 365 or have downloaded the OneDrive app. You can share files and folders, which makes it easy to work on projects with others. 

To save your documents online, sign in on the Microsoft 365 website using your college email and password.

College email

Microsoft Outlook mail icon. Your student email is accessed via Outlook, where you can manage your emails, calendar, and Teams meetings.  

Check your college email regularly for important communications from college staff. 

Log in to Outlook with your college e-mail address, e.g. 123456@nptcgroup.ac.uk and password.

Student Community Team

Student Community Team iconYou will automatically be added to the NPTC Student Noticeboard Team. This will help you:

  • keep up to date with news and announcements from support services and departments across the college
  • find out about the various events and activities taking place in college and online
  • get informal, friendly assistance or be directed to the specialist services you may need.

Connecting to the Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi network at NPTC Group is called eduroam, and is available at all our colleges. Once registered, you will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi whenever you visit one of our sites. 

Follow the instructions in the guide below for setting up your device to connect to eduroam. You will need your college email address and password.

Moodle

The Moodle icon which is an M with a scholar's hat on top. Moodle is the college's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This is where you will find your online course materials, resources and activities. 

Log into Moodle using your student ID number as your username, e.g. 123456 and your usual college password. More information about using Moodle can be found in the Guide to College Systems.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams logoMicrosoft Teams is a workspace which allows you to join online lessons, and communicate with your lecturers and classmates. You can use all of the main Microsoft 365 apps and tools within Teams, and share files such as Word documents, PowerPoint Presentations and videos.
