Search the library catalogue for books, e-books, DVDs
Books are arranged in the library using the Dewey Decimal System. All books are assigned a shelfmark according to their subject and all books on the same subject will have the same number.
Use the library catalogue to find the books you need
Check the status to see if the book is available or on loan
If the book is available, make a note of the location and the shelfmark
Follow the signs on the shelves to find the subject and shelfmark you need
If there is something missing from our library let us know. Recommend a book for us to purchase for the library.
We have over 30,000 books available in our libraries for you to borrow to use at home. Pop in to the library to choose the books you want or you can request books using our Click and Collect service.
You need to show your college ID card to borrow library resources.
You may borrow up to 8 books at any one time.
You can borrow books for up to 3 weeks at a time. When you collect books you'll be given a date when they are due to be returned to the library. If you forget we'll send you reminders by SMS and e-mail.
If you need to keep your books longer than this, e-mail libraries@nptcgroup.ac.uk to ask for an extension. As long as they haven't been requested by someone else, we'll give you a new return date.

You can borrow books from us free of charge and, unlike some libraries, we won't charge any fines if you're late bringing them back. All we ask is that you take care of the books while they are in your possession and return them to us in good condition.
We'll only ask you to pay anything if you lose one of our books or it gets damaged beyond repair while you have it. If the worst does happen we'll charge you the cost of buying a new copy.
#AskALibrarian... If the book you want isn't on the shelf, ask one of the library staff to check the catalogue. If it's on loan to someone else we can reserve it for you and will let you know when it's available for you to collect. If we don't have the book in stock we may be able to get it from one of our other libraries or buy a new copy.
